The Velvasoft Discovery Wedge 2008

The Velvasoft Discovery Wedge promotes multi-sensory exploration for clients with limited use of their head, neck and/or hands, providing opportunities for cognitive skill development. The Wedge design allows elevation of the visual field to a 45 or 90-degree angle. Black Velvasoft material combined with brightly colored items may assist eye-hand coordination and motor control. Objects that utilize hook and loop material, may be secured directly to this material, providing stability and control, allowing clients to explore and interact with their environment. Each Wedge comes complete with several colored and shaped weights that can be attached to the wedge and several pieces of colored hook. The Wedge is composed of medium weight foam; the cover is removable for washing.
Each Wedge incorporates hidden strips of Hook Velcro along the flat sides allowing it to be secured to the Velvasoft Discovery Tray or to many types of carpet, common in classrooms and clinics. The hook sections are covered by a protective strips to prevent snagging. To use the Wedge, simply pull these strips back from either side and place the wedge in the desired location.
We have also added a series of Augmentative Communication cards and information packet. These cards and information may be helpful with communication skills.
