Velvasoft Weighted Collar
OJ demonstrates weights with-in the collar
The Velvasoft Collars were specifically designed to give the therapist complete control of weight placement, and the amount of weight used in any position on the collar for specific proprioceptive feedback. New Hook-n-Loop sections now allow the weights to be placed within the collar. The weights may now be attached to the top of the Collar or placed with-in the weight sections. This added feature gives great flexibility and allows the therapist to adjust the collar weights to meet the needs of each client. When placing the weights within the collar, follow the instructions provided with each collar.
These Collars are intended to be used for sitting activities and are not designed to be used for jumping, running, or similar activities.
Two secure wrap strips are provided for used when the weight is placed on one side of the body.
The Collar is reversible.
The Collar come in five sizes with different sets of Weights. The shoulder width is given to assure that you have the width needed to allow a slight distance off the clients’ shoulder. This is a necessary measurement for some therapy programs and specific clients.

Instructions for Weighted Collar
The Velvasoft collar is placed around the clients’ neck with the closure in the front or back. The edge of the collar should be just beyond the edge of the shoulder, allowing weight to also be placed directly on the shoulder. New Hook-n-Loop sections allow the weights to be placed within the collar.
The weights may be attached to the top of the Collar or placed within the weight sections. This added feature gives greater flexibility and allows the therapist to adjust the collar weights to meet the needs of each client.
To use the weights on the top of the collar, remove the protective strip from the Hook and place them on the collar. If the weights are to be placed within the weight sections, attach the protective strip to the hook section to avoid snagging on the inside material. (Always replace the protective strips to prevent snagging or clumping of the weights for storage.)
Two secure wrap strips may be used when the weight is placed on only one side of the collar. Simply attach the secure wrap to the opposite side of the collar in the front. Then slip the secure wrap under the client’s arm, and secure it to the backside, keeping the collar in place.
Note: For inquisitive clients, we suggest that the weights be placed in the collar so that the client is prevented from removing the weights. This will make repositioning the weights more difficult, however it should eliminate removal of the weights by the client.
